I’m a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, holding an MA in Counselling Psychology, a Master’s in Public Health, and a background as a Registered Nurse. Since 2016, I’ve worked in various RN roles, from palliative care to public health. My passion for supporting others’ wellness, fostering meaningful connections, and embracing a holistic perspective has led me to become a therapist. My own mental health journey has deepened my understanding of this work and strengthened my commitment to helping others.
I specialize in grief and bereavement counselling, recognizing that grief manifests in many forms, not just through the loss of a loved one. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and significant life transitions. Drawing from a range of theoretical approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and existential modalities, I collaborate with you to honor your unique needs.
Above all, I take a client-centered, holistic approach, emphasizing compassionate support and creating a safe space that respects your journey, goals, and experiences. I believe in personalized care rather than a one-size-fits-all method, and I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship. I look forward to connecting!
I love animals and have two dogs that are my world! Being in nature brings me so much joy, and I try to get out to a forest whenever I can, especially in the fall. I also enjoy a good games night…Catan, Mario Party, cards…you name it, I’ll like it. I love music and although I cannot sing well, that never stops me from a good Alanis karaoke session.
I am a Registered Social Worker with The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have received a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. My background includes 5 years of combined work and volunteer experience in the social services field. This involved working with vulnerable individuals living in the community and program management.
I have 3 years in program development and facilitation with seniors, women and children fleeing domestic violence, and individuals experiencing addictions and homelessness.
In all experiences, I use an anti-oppressive, strengths-based approach in treatment planning and focus on providing optimal psychosocial care using a trauma-informed lens with training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy).
I am adept and experienced at treating:
I moved around Canada a lot as a child but grew up mostly in St. Thomas Ontario. I spent 6 years in Nova Scotia gaining a love for the East Coast. Eventually I wanted to be closer to family, so I settled in London, Ontario. I enjoy scuba diving, painting, wood burning, and walking my dog. My main interests would be to obtain my certification in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and art-based therapies.
